1. Who We Are

Blacksteel Digital ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for this website (blacksteeldigital.com), based in Athens, Greece.

2. Scope of This Policy

This policy covers data collected when you visit our website. It does not apply to the FlashAttach desktop application, which runs entirely on your local machine - no contact list, attachment, or email content ever reaches our servers. For a description of the app's local-first workflow, see the features section on the homepage.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Analytics cookies (consent required)

If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated, anonymised information about how visitors use this site:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • How you arrived at the site (search, direct, referral)
  • Country, device type, and browser (aggregated - never tied to an individual)
  • Interactions such as button clicks, brochure downloads, outbound product links, and scroll depth

Legal basis: Consent - Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google Analytics.

3.2 Google Signals (consent required)

When analytics consent is granted and a visitor is signed in to their Google account with Ads Personalisation enabled, Google may associate session data with that account to produce aggregated demographic and interest reports visible to us in GA4. We never see individual user data - only aggregate statistics such as "35-44 / Technology."

3.3 Consent preference (no cookie - local only)

Your Accept / Decline choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key fa_cookie_consent. This value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server. It is cleared when you clear your browser's site data.

4. Cookies Set

The following cookies are placed only after you give consent:

If you decline, none of the above cookies are set. GA4 fires a cookieless ping only (no user identification).

5. Data Retention

  • GA4 analytics data - retained for 14 months (Google's standard retention period for event data). You can request deletion via Google's My Activity tool.
  • localStorage consent key - persists until you clear your browser's site data for this domain, or until you change your choice (see section 8).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The only third party that may receive data from your visit is:

Google LLC - analytics data processor for GA4 and Google Signals. Google processes data under their own Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Terms agreed between Google and GA4 customers. Data is only transferred when you have consented.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a resident of the EU / EEA you have the following rights:

  • Right of access - request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification - request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure - request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction - ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Right to object - object to processing based on our legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent - at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
  • Right to lodge a complaint - with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA): www.dpa.gr

8. How to Withdraw Consent or Manage Cookies

You can change your cookie choice at any time by clearing the consent preference from your browser, which will cause the banner to reappear on your next visit:

9. Third-Party Links

Our site links to Gumroad (for purchases) and Google Fonts (loaded at page open). These services have their own privacy policies. Clicking a Gumroad link takes you to a third-party site governed by Gumroad's own terms. Google Fonts requests may log your IP address; see Google's Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when we change how we collect or use data. The Last updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Significant changes will be accompanied by a prominent notice on the site.
